NEW BOOK RELEASE

The year was 1920. “The Allied Arts was founded at a time of surging growth in Denver to encourage artistic aspirations. Supporters, Jean Cranmer, Anne Evans, Burnham Hoyt, and others, believed that encouraging the energy and intelligence of the young would determine a luminous future for Denver.”

Allen Young, a music critic in Denver and author of Opera in Central City and Exotic and Irrational: Opera in Denver 1879-2006, crafted The History of the Allied Arts – 1920-1995 like an insightful storyteller. Read about the careers of sculptors and singers and visual artists
who left marks on the art world. The book convinces readers that financial support does indeed make the difference for pre-professional artists.
